The Joanne Chazima Sickle Cell Foundation (JCSCF) is a non-profit organization registered and based in Kenya whose primary goal is to raise awareness about sickle cell disease and provide access to healthcare services in disease-affected areas. The Foundation is named after its co-founder Joanne Chazima, herself a sickle cell champion.
YEARS
Individuals with sickle cell disease (SCD) face substantial health and socioeconomic challenges, including adverse health outcomes impacting daily life and potential early mortality, exacerbated by the high costs of SCD healthcare and limited insurance coverage; these individuals also encounter educational setbacks due to disease-related absences, endure stigma leading to social isolation, and contend with a lack of public awareness regarding SCD transmission and individual status.
In the sickle-cell world where ignorance, stigma, and misunderstanding prevail, our commitment to compassionate understanding enables us to genuinely care for and support the sickle cell community.
We are unwaveringly committed to pushing boundaries & advocating tirelessly for the sickle cell community, and ensuring our efforts result in meaningful, lasting impact..
We recognize that each warrior and challenge is unique. We embrace creativity, revolutionizing our approach to every aspect of sickle cell care, ensuring each challenge is met with a fresh perspective.
